BERL - British Electrical Repairs Limited
BERL (British Electrical Repairs Limited) was setup in 1910's by the insurance companies to rewind and repair large electric motors, due to the soaring cost of repairs by back street rewind shops.
In 1987 BERL moved it's head office from Manchester to new premises purpose built in Chesterfield, Derbyshire where the building is still used today by one of our largest repair workshops.
BERL has always been a technical front runner in Thermographic Surveys, Vibration Analysis, Dielectric Loss Analysis, Puddle Brazing and VPI Vacuum Pressure Impregnation to name a few.
By 1987 BERL was owned by DELTA PLC and in 1996 WYKO purchased BERL along with Lewis DMR in the south to create a new EMS Electro Mechanical Services Division within WYKO. This made WYKO very unique, now with the ability to repair and supply to industry with a greater knowledge base behind their products, enhancing the customers repair or replace experience.
