Couplings

Couplings are used to connect prime movers to driven items i.e. motors to gearboxes, or driven items i.e. gearboxes to the application the customer has.

Selection of couplings is based on the power and speed of the shaft to be connected. The type of coupling will depend on the power transmitted.

There are three main types of coupling, which are:

  • Rigid
  • Flexible
  • Torsionally Flexible
The coupling type used depends on the application.

The vital link between motor and machine, Fenner® couplings absorb shock loadings, drive misalignment and allow separation of the drive line for maintenance.

Fenner® shaft couplings range from highly resilient to rigid and are all precision manufactured using high quality cast iron or steel, and the latest polymer and composite technology, as you would expect.

Most couplings enjoy ease of fitment through the Taper Lock® bush system. A range of spacers and other accessories are available to cover virtually any industrial application.
