RSO Testing
  • This test unit is used with an oscilloscope to test both the turn and ground insulations of generator rotors. Rotors can be tested at speed in a generator to test for shorted turns, and it can be used in the stationary mode too.
  • With large rotors running at 3000rpm they can develop turn faults at speed, which are not in evidence when stationary.
  • The unit is designed to detect where faults are within the rotor windings, thus making it much easier to repair.
