Spiral Welding

Spiral Welding

  • The Spiral Welding process is applied in an inert Argon Gas atmosphere to prevent oxidation during the welding.
  • The spiral welding process is designed to reclaim damaged rotor shafts, both large and small, to the highest quality standard, with metals chemically matched to the base metal of the shafts to provide a completely homogenious metallogical structure of great strength.
  • The spiral welding process is applied in a dedicated lathe. The lathe will rotate the shaft at a speed which allows the welding head to traverse parallel to the shaft and to apply the required deposition of metal, which after heat treatment and cooling will be machined to size.
