Chemical dosing equipment can be found everywhere from the oil and gas industries to petrochemical and pharmaceutical applications. The efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness of the equipment can be as varied as the industries in which it is utilised. However, one way to enhance all aspects of manufacture and operation is to call on a company which can carry out the entire design, manufacturing and testing operation in-house.

Every chemical dosing application is different. So to achieve optimum efficiency and reliability, every package must be different too: precisely tailored to meet the exact requirements of the particular application. A company such as ERIKS will carry out an extensive technical review of the process and application, before deciding on the package design and the equipment required. ERIKS can also call on extensive experience and in-depth expertise to facilitate the most appropriate and effective design in the shortest possible timescale.

Many manufacturers of chemical dosing packages specialise in pneumatic pumps as part of the package. ERIKS, however, also has great strength in the design and manufacture of electric pumps, as well as being highly proficient in air-driven pumps - especially popular in the Third World, in areas where power sources are often not readily available. This capability, together with a reputation for robust and reliable construction, has led to extensive commissions in countries as far afield as Albania, Colombia, Egypt and India.

ERIKS' in-house capabilities encompass every aspect of design, build, test and installation. The company's electrical experience means as well as having the capability to properly specify electric pumps and electric motors, it can also design and build the package control panels. And the company's manufacturing expertise and capabilities mean that the frame, skid, pipework, gauges and line heaters can also be designed and built in-house.

Once built, the complete package can be tested in ERIKS' own testing facilities, then installed and commissioned on-site by experienced ERIKS engineers, if the customer requires. A complete project management service is also available.

ERIKS has worked with major oil and gas producers in the UK and abroad, and in every case has produced a chemical dosing package specifically designed to match the operating conditions - which can vary greatly. For example, an ERIKS chemical injection skid designed for Albania was required to cope with crude oil with a maximum line pressure of 8 bar and a maximum temperature of 36°C, whereas a skid designed by the company for trials in Colombia was required to operate with a crude oil maximum line pressure of 20 bar and a maximum design temperature of 70°C on the chemical line and 90°C on the crude oil line. The inverter-controlled pumps for the Colombian trial are capable of injection at a maximum flow of 350 US barrels per day, whereas a package designed and built for an oil-producing plant in India has pumps capable of injection at a flow rate of 30 litres per minute.

In addition to the design and manufacture of chemical dosing packages, ERIKS offers a complete repair and maintenance service - ensuring that an ERIKS package will not only meet customer demands for efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness in the short-term, but in the long-term too.
