Engineering Design Challenge Competition

ERIKS Automation are pleased to announce the 2013 Engineering Challenge, a new competition offering a prize of £5,000 worth of design time. 

Entrants must submit an outline of an automation project which is currently at the concept stage.  These submissions will then be judged by an expert panel including ERIKS Automation specialists and a winner selected to receive up to £5,000 of design and development work (equivalent to 40 engineering hours). 

The winner, as well as two runners-up, will also receive a Land Rover Experience. The deadline for entries is the 31st January 2014 with the winner being announced in February 2014.

Engineering Design Challenge Rules of Entry

  1. The engineering voucher can only be used on the project for which the winning submission was awarded, and will not be used for payment against current orders.
  2. The name of the winner will be only be made public only after permission has been sought from the winner
  3. ERIKS UK Automation Services guarantees full confidentially relating to all information submitted in the project entry
  4. ERIKS UK Automation Services prepare a preliminary LoR (List of Requirements) for each entry submitted. This information will be made available for all participants for their own project
  5. If an entry, in the opinion of ERIKS UK Automation Services, is incomplete or not specific enough, additional information or clarification may be requested.
  6. If any engineering assignment exceeds the 40 hours of the issued voucher (mechanics, electronics, control technology and/or software), the winner can chose to use the voucher as part payment
  7. If the value of the engineering assignment is less than 40 hours, ERIKS UK Automation Services will not issue a credit or refund for hours not used.
  8. The engineering voucher is issued on behalf of a project (product or system) which ERIKS UK Automation Services expects will enter into serial production 
  9. All entries must be sent to ERIKS Automation ( no later than 31st January 2014, upon receipt of your entry material you will receive a confirmation email from ERIKS UK.
  10. Entries received after 31st January will not be included in the competition.
  11. ERIKS UK Automation will announce the competition winner January 2014
  12. The engineering voucher is valid from the date of issue for 1 year
  13. The Land Rover experience will be available in the spring of 2014 and be communicated directly with prize-winners
  14. All prizes will be awarded in the name of the winner and are not transferable
