ERIKS has significantly strengthened its position in the USA with two new North American acquisitions: Industrial Controls, the country's leading distributor of controls, instrumentation, automation and automated valves, and Lewis-Goetz, a major distributor of fabricated hose, conveyor belts and gaskets. Both acquisitions will continue as independent growth platforms.
Industrial Controls currently serves over 10,000 blue chip customers through its national network of 17 branch offices and e-commerce/catalogue operations, and generates annual sales of approximately $84 million. In acquiring Industrial Controls, ERIKS gains a strong platform for growth in controls and instrumentation in North America and firmly underlines its status as a global industrial service provider. The activities of Industrial Controls will be developed as an independent wholly owned subsidiary within ERIKS.
Lewis-Goetz is one of the largest industrial distributors in North America, operating from 86 locations throughout USA and Canada with annual sales of approximately $400 million. The acquisition of Lewis-Goetz provides ERIKS with a significantly strengthened market position in the USA.
ERIKS currently consists of more than 60 companies with branches in 25 countries, serving over 200,000 customers. In 2010, ERIKS generated net sales of €1.1 billion.
