WYKO, an ERIKS Company will share its expertise during a master class entitled Energy Savings in Buildings at Sustainable Development 2008 that takes place at 2pm at the Barbican Conference Centre, London on 21st February.
During the master class David Ohren will outline how the traditional condition monitoring disciplines, that were once the preserve of engineering, can be used on virtually any building to improve energy efficiency. Outlining an energy efficiency programme that covers air movement, fluid movement, rotating machinery, HVAC and Power Factor Correction David will give some simple advice on how such energy intensive equipment as pumps and motors can become more efficient while also giving some real life examples with impressive payback.
David´s colleague Duncan Webb will give a basic introduction to thermography and cover how the use of the technology has progressed to where it is now used to give an instant indication of heat loss in buildings. Duncan will also provide information about how a thermal imaging survey is conducted; looking at pipe work and insulation as well as other issues such as water ingress. Importantly, there will also be some content that discusses the potential Return On Investment (ROI) of using this non-invasive technology to identify potential energy savings.
