Thanks to fivefold business growth over the past four years - even during one of the worst recessions on record - ERIKS' Kings Lynn distribution branch has more than justified its move to a new, much larger facility.
As well as the existing distribution operation, the new facility - some 10,000 sq.ft bigger than the older premises - will also offer an electromechanical workshop and an electronic repair cell. These additional services not only bring specialist skills to the area, but they will also employ local expertise; thanks to a 50% expansion of the staff count.
"At a time when many companies are still downsizing and reducing staff numbers, I am delighted that we have been able to do the exact opposite," explains Jonathan Read, ERIKS Regional Operations Manager. "I think the team has completely justified this investment; with the superb business growth over the past four years being the primary driver."
The new 12,000 sq.ft facility's workshop will be able to take on the repair of electric motors, gearboxes and pumps and associated equipment; with the electronics repair cell looking after the more high-tech side of the business including inverter, PCB, HDMI board and power supply repairs. "We have made it a priority to have the right people for the job," Mr Read elaborates, "by hiring product specialists with the right range of experience and capabilities."
"For the first time, local businesses will have access to engineering services on their doorstep that you would normally only expect to find in large cities," explains Darren Waterfield, ERIKS Kings Lynn General Manager. "This is an exciting time and we are looking forward to delivering our Know-How to help local businesses grow and develop." Complementing the expanded shop floor and distribution operations is a training room, which ERIKS intends to use to the full by offering training courses and seminars to local engineering businesses. "This move represents a large Investment by ERIKS in technology and equipment," concludes Mr Read, "and it is our intention that with our distribution, repair and training facilities we will continue our significant growth for many years to come."
