ERIKS announces national lubricant distribution partnership with Castrol
Working with the latest raw materials, technology and manufacturing processes, Castrol shares many of the same goals as ERIKS, namely increasing productivity, reducing costs and improving quality.
ERIKS and Castrol Industrial UK have announced a new partnership which will see ERIKS undertake the national distribution of Castrol Industrial’s impressive range of high-performance lubricants.
Castrol, with its long history of product innovation and patents, fits perfectly with the ERIKS ethos of ‘Beyond the Repairable Asset’, an approach that looks at the value and economics of plant reliability on a macro basis. Working with the latest raw materials, technology and manufacturing processes, Castrol shares many of the same goals as ERIKS, namely increasing productivity, reducing costs and improving quality. Castrol’s quote: “It’s not just about oil, it’s about the overall service” sums it up nicely.
The new relationship is also the result of perfect timing, as both companies were actively looking for new partners in this arena. Castrol’s strategic focus on high-performance lubricants meant they were looking at new partners to access the MRO market.
From ERIKS’ point of view, both companies have very strong brands, being market leaders in their respective fields. Very early on in the process they both also realised that they had a common set of values and goals – with ERIKS’ ‘Passion for Technology’ exhibiting perfect synergy with Castrol’s ‘Technology Inside’. Castrol’s technical services capability also fits very neatly with ERIKS’ value added policy – adding yet more customer benefits to an already powerful partnership.

The distribution deal covers the full range of Castrol Industrial products, but an early promotional focus on higher turnover, more popular products such as Optimol high-performance greases, Alpha SP general-purpose industrial gear oil and Hyspin spindle oils is planned.
A range of stock will be stored at ERIKS’ National Distribution Centre in Halesowen; with more niche products being supplied directly to ERIKS Service Centres nationwide from Castrol’s Doncaster site. An approach formulated by the two companies to optimise the national logistics and improve availability for the customer.
Castrol products will be available from all seventy-six ERIKS nationwide industrial service centres, and many of the 88 ERIKS integrated on-site stores and procurement centres across the UK. ERIKS will also be using Castrol products at many of its twenty-three fully equipped mechanical and electrical engineering workshops maintaining equipment such as electric motors, pumps and gearboxes.
