The Prinovis site in Liverpool has entered into a five-year agreement with ERIKS Integrated Solutions, a division of Europe's largest industrial distributor. Under the new agreement, Prinovis is outsourcing the MRO procurement and stores management activities at its Liverpool site to ERIKS.
The new contract will allow Prinovis to benefit both commercially and operationally from the relationship with ERIKS, who will bring value-added activity to the sites in areas such as 5S stores management techniques, technical innovations and inventory reduction.
Thomas Peeney, Purchasing Manager at Prinovis, commented: "With our plant being fully operational it is important for us to concentrate on our core business activities. However, before we handed over the responsibility of buying our spares and running our stores to a third party, we wanted to make sure we were dealing with a company we could trust."
Paul Lynch, Sales Director at ERIKS Integrated Solutions summed up: "Prinovis operates in a time-sensitive industry and we were mindful of this throughout our discussions. Outsourcing the MRO stores can be a big step, and it is important that the requirements of the engineering, purchasing, finance and HR departments are met. We are really pleased that Prinovis has put its trust in ERIKS and look forward to a mutually beneficial, long-term relationship."
Thomas Peeney added: "ERIKS was able to show us that it kept large stocks and had an excellent logistics system, but we wanted more. Talks with its other customers showed us that it has a track record of keeping its promises and that was important in the final decision."
