PTFE based rotary shaft seals offer extended life in high-speed machines and applications where conventional rubber seals are not effective. The range covers seals with a variety of lip and casing configurations to cover most environmental and installation conditions.
Pioneer Weston has employed the latest filled grades of PTFE to produce their new range of shaft seals which offer a longer operational life than those manufactured using traditional filled grades. Common to the whole range is an extended lip element that lies flat against the shaft to provide a greater sealing contact area which prevents shaft grooving, a common problem with rubber seals. This flexible element allows for greater shaft misalignment and vibration than previously possible, making the seals ideal for use in all types of engines, mixers, gearboxes, and pump applications.
For specialist high-speed applications, Pioneer Weston has developed new Hydrodynamic Lip variations which feature a unique spiral seal element designed to continually pump fluid away from the contact surface. Oil slips along multithread channels taking heat away from the lip, thus increasing operating life and preventing seal failures associated with oil carbonisation.
