Polestar, the UK's leading print company, has entered into a 5-year agreement with ERIKS Integrated Solutions, a division of Europe's largest industrial distributor. Under the new agreement, Polestar is outsourcing to ERIKS their MRO procurement and stores management activity at their five largest sites in the UK.
Following a thorough evaluation of all the options open to them, Polestar decided that ERIKS' unrivalled experience in this field set them apart from the competition.
The new contract will allow Polestar to benefit both commercially and operationally from the relationship with ERIKS, who will bring value-added activity to the sites in areas such as 5S stores management techniques, technical innovations, inventory reduction and critical spares sharing.
Karen Caruso, Group Purchasing Director at Polestar commented: "We were looking to move away from the traditional customer/supplier relationship and enter into a long-term partnership with a business that could clearly demonstrate a good track record in this field."
Janet Kenyon, Group Projects Director at Polestar added: "ERIKS were able to show us a wide variety of successful contracts across a number of industry sectors and that gave us the confidence we needed to make this major step".
Paul Lynch, Sales Director at ERIKS Integrated Solutions summed up: "We are delighted to have been chosen by Polestar for this valuable contract. Our standardisation programs, product application advice and proven inventory reduction tools will lead to significant savings for Polestar, who, along with the majority of other large UK manufacturers, are looking to concentrate on their own core competences and outsource non-core functions to those who specialise."
