Available in 11 sizes from 0.06 to 11kW with a wide choice of solid and hollow-shaft output options, the new Fenner® Series W worm reduction geared motors from ERIKS UK, provide dependable and cost-effective drive solutions for a wide range of applications.
The units use a patented modular lightweight gear case that combines rigidity with strength to ensure a long reliable working life. They also feature cast-in mounting feet, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of add-on feet as well as reducing the risk of oil leaks in the output seal area.
Series W geared motors are available with single-stage worm gearboxes offering reduction ratios from 5:1 to 100:1. This range can be extended to 300:1 with helical input gears, and up to 5000:1 by using worm gear boxes in combination.
All Series W gearboxes are constructed around hardened and ground worms that ensure smooth running, durability and high mechanical strength. Plus, they also incorporate generously rated bearings that provide substantial capacity for use with overhung loads such as pulleys and sprockets.
In addition to the motorised versions, Series W products are available in reducer versions with input shaft or with input flange for use with the customer´s own motor. All versions are compatible with standard IEC motors, meaning that suitable motors are inexpensive and readily available. Compatibility with selected NEMA motors is also offered, facilitating the use of the units in North America and US-oriented markets.
Series W geared motors are fully interchangeable with similar products from most other European manufacturers, and are available with a wide choice of mounting styles, including foot, flange, face and torque arm. This makes them an ideal choice not only for use in new equipment, but also as replacements or upgrades in existing equipment.
For applications in hazardous areas, Series W geared motors and reducers can be supplied in ATEX certified versions. Hazards for which certification is available include Dust Zones 21 and 22, Gas Groups IIa and IIb, and Temperature Class T4.
To complement its Series W products and to further increase its versatility, ERIKS UK offers a comprehensive range of accessories. Among these are single and double extension shafts, torque arms and special mounting flanges.
